Designed for use with Cat6 Networking cables that have a solid core. Solid core cables should always be terminated using IDC connections (punchdown terminals) to provide a secure connection.
Usually you would use a faceplate or patch panel to terminate solid core cables and then pre made short cables. Seomtimes however you may want to connect directly to your device/router /CCTV camera etc and so a connector such as this allows you to punch down your solid cable in the IDC terminal and then connect straight to device.
