Optical cables provide digital audio and are most comonly used from TVs to surround sytems. Our beige optical cable is 6mm in diameter and has a TOS (square type) connection one side and a 3.5mm digital connection the other. The 3.5mm optical connection is located on low profile devices such as mini disc players and other audio devices.
The 3.5mm optical connection is usually mistaken for a 3.5mm analogue connections but will not work when connected to standard headphone or AUX socket! To convert from digital to analogue see QS: 005367
