This camera is fitted with a SONY CMOS STARVIS sensor. A STARVIS sensor increases the light sensitivity in low lit areas for example an alleyway or dull warehouse and utilizes a range of wave lengths to increase the light and better the image recorded. As a result of this it is capable of capturing up to 2 or more times the sensitivity of other standard CCD (charge coupled device) CMOS image sensors.
The STARVIS Sensor also has a much better sensitivity to near infrared light. This is important when you have a completely dark condition or when using the day/night function on the camera. It provides a much higher quality night image with a clearer overall image in the dark.
On top of this the image sensor supplied by SONY also provides a higher resolution and better tones than standard CMOS sensors due to the larger images sensor used by SONY.
The varifocal cameras offer more flexibility than standard CCTV cameras as standard CCTV cameras tend to have fixed lenses. So what s the difference between a varifocal lenses and a fixed lens? Varifocal lenses are manually adjusted via either the camera or the DVR this enables you to focus the camera from the DVR giving you better results and a clearer image.
The AHD camera is capable of 1080p resolutions and is a 4 in 1 so can be used with formats such as TVI/CVI/CVBS and of course AHD systems. They are perfect for upgrading your cameras and using your existing DVR and cables.
